Made in the Philippines, molded in Copenhagen. Graduated in New York City, living in Berlin.
Since his debut album release "DISH" in 1999 (Virgin Records) Andy Roda has toured around the world with his original music, as well as graced the stages on tours with established International artists (lead vocalist for platinum selling act Safri Duo). For more than 10 years New York City has been his home, where has worked with the likes of Gary Haase (Chaka Khan, Celine Dion) and Rob Fusari (Lady Gaga, Beyonce) meanwhile he learned to cultivate and broaden his skills in both the audio/visual world. He credits his local church in Copenhagen, and his mentors the legendary Ashford & Simpson (Motown) and their Manhattan venue "The Sugarbar" as some of the most influential roles in the molding of his artistry, since this was a regular musical outlet week after week.
As true DIY artist (do-it-yourself-artist) driven by an insatiable curiosity to learn new things, as well as a deep passion to master his craft, Andy's multi faceted skills has proven to be the key to his longevity and success. This has led to his production companies POGIEntertainment and ::IAMGraphics:: handling both musical, as well as graphic/visual tasks for International record labels.
He has released records in the US, Asia and Europe through his own label POGI Entertainment in partnership with Lifted House, Disco:Wax, SONY Music, Uniform Beat, Playground Music Scandinavia, Star Records/ABS-CBN (Philippines). In fact his contribution to Star Records' "SupahDance Album" earned him a "24K Dance Award" and Gold Record in 2007 for its more than 25.000 sales in the Philippines. The following year, he was honored by The American Scandinavian Society in New York for his artistic excellence and musical ambassadorship between the US and Denmark.
Andy Roda's forthcoming release, is a soul/electronic album paying homage to New York City while channeling the melodic finesse of super producers Jimmy Jam & Terri Lewis (Janet/ Michael Jackson). His love for gospel music added with the tropical nuances of his roots are evident as well on the 11-track album, set for release in 2014. Special guests incl. house music legends Jerome Sydenham (NY/DE), Tyree Cooper (Chicago), €ric D. Clark (US/DE), Sidelmann (DK), Statikk (SE) and a soaring duet with gospel/soul vocalist Dorrey Lyles.
